MaddTing, Vol. 2.1

A 5 track dancehall ep (16m 12s) — released May 19th 2017 on Swing Ting

Madd Again! hit the ground running with the first of two EPs from the super crew to follow 2015's MaddTing Vol. 1. The five tunes show off their range, with Zed Bias' always-on-point production providing the foundation for Trigga, Specialist Moss and Killa Benz to do their thing.

The EP features the in-demand, thought-to-be-lost soundsystem destroyer Bawlout, alongside four brand new up-to- the-time weapons. Covering dancehall, grime, garage and jungle, MaddTing Vol. 2 is a DJ's delight, fusing the crew's lyrical flexibility with Zed's club-ready production.

Watagwan Yo finds MA! exchanging witty lines, given nuttily warped and pitched processing over a sinister riddim from Bias. Bawlout, a certified ragga-grime anthem recognisable from the 'Sellasie-I' intro features Trigga on deadly, bravado-heavy form. Bun Down - featuring UK dancehall legend Sweetie Irie - sees the collective ride a rolling junglist beat in an ode to their favourite herb. Chatterbox takes the EP in a darker direction as Trigga & Benz deal with the badminded over a fittingly urgent ZB production. Lastly Brand New Dubplate closes the set in fine style with a wicked ode to UK soundsystem culture.
